Lentil (Lens culinaris) is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Legume (Fabaceae) family. It is the part that we use as lentil, the green or brown colored round seeds of the white flowering plant with high nutritional value.  There are 23% protein in the seeds of the cucumber. This ratio is 26% in shell seeds, so lentils are considered to be rich in content. The most common types of lentils are red and green.
